Unimpressed

While at her friend Kayleigh's birthday party last night: "Mom, I am not impressed with this hat thing. Hurry up and get your pictures so I can eat."

Happy Half Birthday Camryn Ilene!

Can't believe it's been six months already! Every day is full of changes and exploration. It's thrilling to sit back and watch you take in the world; learning the mechanics of your body and the spectrum of your senses. We love you, our silly little girl.

Had her six month doctor's appointment this afternoon.  Drumroll please...the nurse weighed Rynnie in at 18 pounds, 15 ounces and is 26 3/4 inches long.  Growing girl!  We didn't get those percentiles or finish the shots because unfortunately, Dr. Smart was called off on an emergency before visiting with us.  We will go back on Friday afternoon to have the actual consultation with her.  We will keep you posted!  We are off to Camryn's friend Kayleigh's first birthday party now.  All the cool girls will be there.  Can't believe the birthday parties have already started!  I'll try and take some pics.

So, the 6 Months paper kept going straight to her mouth (of course) so I had to distract her, then throw the paper down to snap the camera.  I cut this one off, but it's the cutest.

Look how close I am to crawling!

Another week off. I know, I know, I'm sorry.

Sorry it's been awhile. Still adjusting to this work thing, but here are a few cute pics.  Special thanks to Grandma Kerry for watching the little one this week while I finished up my last week of day shift.  On another note...Ryn got her first tooth this weekend!

Pics 1 and 2: I can't believe I'm posting this, but when Kev put his UW hat on her, we both just melted (but she's still going to be a Coug girl!).

Pic 3: Ryn and her new pal Russ (senior).  It was her dad's when he was a baby!

Outlets!

Had a little playdate excursion with Crystal/Kayleigh and Amy/Lana at the Woodburne Outlets today. Finally genuine sunshine!  Ryn scored big on some adorable summer duds.  Can't believe I bought a few items in size 12 months!

Perfect Strangers

That's the name of Kev's new softball team. They rock! First pitch at bat yesterday he hit a ball over the fence. Yep, that's MY man.  #48!

And this is MY child (as noted by the genetically-acquired tongue).

Happy Father's Day!

Happy first Father's Day Kevin!  We love you more than you could ever know.  How lucky we are to have you in our lives.  Here is some insight from the book "1001 Things It Means to Be a Dad" by H. Harrison Jr.

191. Being a dad means wondering how such a tiny little baby can grin and deliver a nuclear blast in her diaper.

239. Being a dad means accepting the fact that your home looks like a day-care center.

And my personal favorite:

219. Being a dad means convincing yourself that you change just as many diapers as your wife although studies indicate you're not even in the ballpark.

Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the U.S. Open all day.  YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Love, your girls.

New Mom Mobile!

Wooooo hoooooo!!! We finally did it! We replaced the rollerskate. Today we found a Volkswagen Passat wagon with low low low mileage. Sporty, yet TONS of trunk space for Ryn's gear (and two sets of golf clubs, luggage, a miniature horse). Super nice inside too. See for yourself!

Exhausted after a long day of car shopping.

Dragon Boat Races!

Today we soaked up tons of sun along the PDX waterfront while watching Auntie Liz compete in the annual Dragon Boat Races! Her team was called "No Teacher Left Behind". Very fitting for an enthusiastic team of educators! Here are some pics from our day.

Sorry for the delay!

So sorry I haven't posted since Sunday! This week I went back to work. I spent the week doing typical hospital orientation activities such as learning about the history of the hospital, deciphering their specific computer charting systems, and listening to various Human Resources presentations. Here is where I will be working. Here is more specifically where I will be working, though sometimes I will float to all units in the hospital.  I am excited to get back into actual nursing work next week; more on that to follow.

Ryn has been a BUSY girl while I have been away. Busy and lucky! First, she spent Monday and Tuesday hanging out with Grandma Kerry. Then Nana Ronda took over the babysitting duties on Wednesday. I am eternally grateful for both of their help!!! Ryn's cousins (that she saw last weekend in Newport) are still here so she got to play with them a lot this week too. This makes for one exhausted baby come nine at night. I thought she might actually fall asleep in her bath last night! Here are a few pics.

Pic 1: Hanging out with my cousins (from left) Zaiah, Kai, Owen and Fiona.  I really really want some of Owen's sour candies!

Pic 2: Owen and I have the same hair color!  Ginger babies unite.

Pic 3: When there are no toys within reach, my thumb does the trick!

Newport Beach (Oregon) for the weekend!

We just got back from a fabulous weekend in Newport Beach. We WILL be going back because it was the perfect place for adults and kids. We met up with my Mom (Nana) and Jewell (Papa) (we were celebrating his 69th birthday!), and his kids Liz, Jenny and Andy. Jenny brought along her children Owen and Fiona, and joining Andy was his wife Justina and their children Kai and Zaiah. Liz's friends Mitch and Melissa brought along their two young daughters as well. Add Kevin, Kat and Ryn to that mix and you have a huge celebration! Tons of pics in this post. Enjoy!
