Full circle.

Yesterday I had a moment.  I went to Costco.  And this got me thinking that it has been just over a year since I started this blog.  Remember what my first post (after the explanation of the blog) was about?  Costco.  I recalled that just a year ago, I dragged my newborn daughter with me through a torrential downpour to stock up on essentials, only to find that no Jenga skills could assist me in cramming them into my rollerskate of a car, and that I still had to heave them up the apartment steps upon my return home.  Fast-forward to yesterday: new toddler, almost new son, no rain, new car, no steps to traverse.  Though I realize a simple trip to Costco is commonplace and quite materialistic; it was the symbolism of the whole experience that moved me.  We have come a long way.

Pic 1: Super fun playdate with the Moen's last night to Play Boutique followed by dinner at Azteca.  Check out Hannah and Rynnie (and Deb) in the bouncy castle.  I think Deb enjoyed it the most (seriously).  Please excuse the cell phone resolution.

Video 1: She is soooo Mommy's girl!

Video 2: Tandem slides!

On a final note, we did have a funny/sad moment at dinner last night.  Rynnie finally met her match in spicy salsa.  After munching on dipped chips for a good 10 minutes, all of the sudden she looked at me and yelled "all done" while wiping her face and blowing.  We knew instantly she had gotten a full mouthful of jalapeno.  It was hard not to laugh at the poor red-faced foodie.  Also, miss Petunia had her 15-month doctor's appointment this week and she is a healthy 23 lb, 11 oz (75th percentile), 32 inch (90th percentile) toddler!  The shots get harder and harder on her; this time she yelled "no no no no no no no!!!" as the horrible, mean nurses stuck the needles in.  Those damn nurses.

Social butterfly.

Lots of fun playdates these days.  It's as if I'm trying to cram as much socialization as possible down my child's throat before #2 arrives and I return to the reclusive days of sleeplessness and zombie-like activity.  Good thing Grandma and Grandpa came this weekend and we got the playroom all finished so miss Petunia has tons of fun things to keep busy with while mom resumes the role of family Holstein.

Pic 1: Red Robin date with Lainey and Jodes.  This girl loves her grilled cheeses!

Pic 2: Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit.  I love this pic.  I especially love that Rynnie's hair is the perfect combo of theirs.

Pic 3: Grandma and Grandpa didn't truly believe the salsa story until they got to witness it for real.  I wasn't kidding.  She can't get enough of the spicy mixture.

Pic 4: I put together so much Ikea furniture this weekend, I think my right index finger will no longer work on the fingerprint security computers at my work.  Here is the new kids' table.  She still hasn't quite figured out how to pull out the chairs before climbing on.  She still likes to dance on top however.

Pic 5: New easel.  Slight case of pica with her taste for chalk.

Pic 6: Can you say spoiled?  The new play kitchen on the right is her absolute favorite.  If you come visit, she will gladly give you as "taste" of her creations.

Pic 7: New table and easel.  The chalk is now securely resting in those blue drawers just out of her reach.

Pic 8: Caught red-handed yellow-mouthed after breaking in to a bag of chocolate Easter eggs at Albertson's this afternoon.

Pic 9: Enjoying a fun dinner date with August and Kayleigh around the new table.  Feeding frenzy!

Fun new toys and stuff.

Lots of fun stuff going on!  Sort of a collection of last week for you.

First, we went to a playdate at August's house.  Rynnie started the trend of table dancing.  Don't tell Daddy.

Asher: "Hey baby, going my way?"

Camryn: "Mom, I'm not ready for this dating stuff!"

"Get me out of here nowwwwwww!!!"

Our weekly breakfast date with August and Angela.

This week we finally put together the awesome toys Nana gave Ryn for her birthday: a baby and her crib, high chair, stroller, purse and feeding utensils.  Here is Rynnie testing out the crib.

Pushing the stroller back and forth and back and forth (all while holding her purse like a lady of course).

Baby brother is 28 weeks!

Video 1: While pushing the stroller, it's important to wiggle your hips and walk with a strut (do I do this too???)

Video 2: We have some work to do before baby #2 arrives!

Video 3: Out to Mexican food last night, the waiters could not believe this little girl drinking the spicy salsa.  They kept calling over all the other waiters to see this silly girl literally screaming for more and more of the spiciness.  Remember what I craved while pregnant with her???

Hanging out.

Just a few pics from our relaxing weekend.  On a side note, the guys finished the awesome floors today!  I promise those "after" photos here in the next few weeks...

Pic 1: She just loves the musical instruments that Auntie Lizzy gave her.  She even uses the drumsticks to "cook".

Pic 2: Um....we are in trouble.  Can't quite twist it yet thankfully.

Pic 3: Just enjoying my PB & J!

Little fish.

Today we escaped the rain with a playdate at the swimming pool.  Rynnie wore her little bikini and had a blast splashing with her buddy August.  Their favorite activity was throwing a ball back and forth to each other.  They were literally playing catch, it was adorable.  They shrieked with excitement with each pass.

Pic 1: Ready to swim!

Pic 2: Hurry up mom!  August is waiting!

Pic 3: Shallow enough for toddlers to walk in.

Pic 4: August's cool new tattoo.  He looks so tough.

Pic 5: Okay mom, enough with the camera, let's SWIM!

Pic 6: Gotta refuel after swimming.

Pic 7: Gotta snooze after refueling.
